  • 4 tsp Salt
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Shortening or EVOO
  • 2 tbsp Instant Yeast
  • 2 cups Water Luke Warm
  • 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 3 cups White Bread Flour


  • Combine salt, sugar, water, yeast and shortening or oil, let rise for 5 mins.
  • Sift whole wheat Flour and add yeast mixture
  • Blend in white flour, adding more if needed to come together into dough.
  • Let rise until doubled.
  • Punch down, shape into loaf and place in loaf pan
  • Let rise until doubled.
  • Bake in preheated oven at 350°F until it sounds hollow when tapped (approximately 30 mins)
