Pioneer Bread
Ingredients
- 4 tsp Salt
- 3 tbsp Sugar
- 1/4 cup Shortening or EVOO
- 2 tbsp Instant Yeast
- 2 cups Water Luke Warm
- 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
- 3 cups White Bread Flour
Instructions
- Combine salt, sugar, water, yeast and shortening or oil, let rise for 5 mins.
- Sift whole wheat Flour and add yeast mixture
- Blend in white flour, adding more if needed to come together into dough.
- Let rise until doubled.
- Punch down, shape into loaf and place in loaf pan
- Let rise until doubled.
- Bake in preheated oven at 350°F until it sounds hollow when tapped (approximately 30 mins)
